How it works
仕組みGenerate placeholder text for mockups in two flavours: the classic Latin “Lorem ipsum” corpus, cycled sentence by sentence, or a Japanese-shaped 漢字 mode that builds pseudo-sentences from a pool of about eighty everyday kanji and kana words, joined with 、and closed with 。. Pick one to ten paragraphs or sentences with the slider, press generate, and copy the result; word and character counts are shown on the plates. The kanji mode is handy for testing how a layout handles CJK line-breaking, taller glyphs, and the absence of spaces, which Latin filler can’t reveal.
CJK text behaves differently from Latin: there are no spaces between words, characters are taller and denser, and line-breaking can happen almost anywhere. A design that looks fine with “lorem ipsum” can overflow or wrap awkwardly with Japanese. Filling your mockup with kanji placeholder catches those issues before real content arrives.
No, it’s deliberately meaningless, just like Latin lorem ipsum. Real words are sampled at random and strung together with 、so the text has natural shape and rhythm without saying anything. Placeholder text works best that way: it shouldn’t distract reviewers with readable meaning.
It’s a scrambled passage from Cicero’s “De finibus bonorum et malorum,” written around 45 BC, used by typesetters since at least the 1500s. The words are close enough to Latin to have a natural letter distribution, but garbled enough that nobody stops to read them. This tool ships the standard modern corpus and cycles it to whatever length you ask for.
